ID online vs Physical ID

ID in the physical world is built over time through interaction.

ID and trust are related.
So what defines "Who someone is"?

• First ID is with a name
• What they do?
• Who they know? (how did you meet? Introduction through friend, at a shop, emailetc)
• What they can do? (knowledge, skills)

Online ID tries to shortcut that process.

Think Monkeysphere .. impossible to know everyone, need to rely on other source for identifying people and skills/knowledge.

One time password using email

Probably for guest use of a some free service, don't make users sign up.
Give them a password for either:

• A session
• A day,
• Week,
• Month
• etc

This way, it introduces a low barrier to entry to try a service.

Maybe eventually moving to a more fully fledged member service (with password), and/or a paid service.
