Cyberpunk mobile phone game?

Posted in Cyberpunk, Games on May 6th, 2007

Lemonquest have created a cyberpunk mobile phone game. Apparently, my mobile phone is supported, but I’m not too sure how to actually get it !

Check out the video of the gameplay. It’s quite reminscent of flashback or Prince of Persia.

The website says it’s a mobile game by R. Talsorian Games who make the Cyberpunk Roleplaying game. Once I figure out how to download/buy it I’ll post a review.

Neocron - Cyberpunk-esque MMORPG

Posted in Cyberpunk, Games on July 19th, 2006

I just stumbled through some notes and found Neocron - A cyberpunk-esque MMORG.

Originally, I found thi gem from The Search for the Holy MMORPG: Part Four. They rated it as a visually good game.

As a taste of the graphics, we can see their plaza:

Refreshing to see we have some sort of Matrix/Cyberspace interaction, and not just a FPS with a theme. Unlike Shadowrun which seemed to just be a FPS with the name and genre’d graphics, although this is only from what I’ve read. Neocron’s site mentions that “hackers” can go up against security systems, steal information, and the usual cyberpunk cowboy kind of stuff.

It also looks like in Neocron, you can play a strategy style game (like developing skills, building and scrounging, etc ) if your not just a move-and-shoot fan. All runners (sounds like someone there played shadowrun), start with an apartment, I guess that’s a safe haven.

I think it might be worth trying out, although the game files have a 1.7 Gigabyte download !

Shadowrun RPG coming to PC and consoles

Posted in Cyberpunk, Games on May 10th, 2006

First spotted by SFAM at Cyberpunk review, it appears the “pen and paper cyberpunk Shadowrun game” will be making it’s way to the PC. I accidentaly stumbled accross the Official Shadowrun RPG site article Microsoft Shadowrun.

So finally after all this .. here’s what the official Shadowrun site says:

Shadowrun™ is a team-based FPS for both Xbox 360™ and Windows Vista™, set in a world where ancient magic blends with modern weapons and advanced technology to form a revolution in multiplayer FPS gaming. Purchase new weapons and abilities each round in an extraordinary arms race to increase your options and open up new tactics for your team. Gather your team from four different magical races, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. And fight for control of a magical artifact that can shape the course of the world.

This is cool, however, we’ll see how cyberpunk is in there. It will be a First Person Shooter.

I purchased an old copy (2nd edition) of Shadowrun a while back for nostalgias sake. Back in the day, early 90’s and high school, I used to game every weekend.

If you want to compare with the original computer game on SNES back in the 90’s then check out the review of Shadowrun at Netjak.

Best Games, Unknown, All time and 2005

Recently, I have gotten nostalgic over game playing. Perhaps because I don’t do it anymore. With a title like RetroGaming with racketboy: Top 20 Games That Nobody Played - But You Should How could I not check it out ?

However, Greatest Games of All times hit the nostalgic nerve. Especially with titles like, Civilization, Neuromancer, Lode Runner and many others I wasted invested my time on.

Then for a bit more fun, the 5 Best Freeware games of 2005. There are two great looking games with flashy graphics. So I might be convinced to try some free games.

And lastly, 3D Realms Site: Master Download Page. They have “freewared” some of the old games from the early ’90s. Like Blake Stone, Duke Nukem 1 and a few other bits and bobs.
