I found this article about Technological Singularity by Vernor Vinge while reading Livejournal Cyberpunk the other day.

It’s an interesting concept or theme about superintellegence that will awaken. This topic is a good basis for science fiction which is echoed in movies like “The Matrix” and generally written about in the cyberpunk genre..

I also liked his discussion around intelligence amplification, and how the benefits of technology are about enhancing and not replacing human skills.
